OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2022, young families in Russia have reduced consumption of all major food groups — in the range from minus 8 percent to minus 22 percent compared to 2021. This is reported by RBC with reference to the Rosstat bulletin.

The amount of milk (by 22 percent), fruit and butter (by 19 percent) decreased the most in the diet of young families, bread (by 15 percent), meat (by 14 percent), vegetables (by 9 percent) decreased less significantly. At the same time, the share of food costs in the volume of consumer spending of young families increased by 5.4 percentage points, to 29.3 percent.

At the same time, despite the reduction in food consumption in kind, the monetary costs of young families for food have not decreased, it follows from the Rosstat bulletin.

Also, single—parent families reduced their food consumption in 2022, than the diet was cut in all categories except vegetables and melons - their number remained approximately at the level of the previous year.

According to Euromonitor statistics, Russians' spending on food exceeded Americans' similar spending by five times. In Russia, according to experts, the cost of food is $ 146 per month — almost a third (29 percent) of all expenses of citizens.
