OREANDA-NEWS The Russians can use bows and crossbows for hunting, registering weapons with the Rosguards. This follows from the law adopted by the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the final reading at the plenary session on July 24.

Bows, crossbows and other cold throwing weapons were previously allowed only for sport shooting. “Citizens will be able to acquire such weapons without a license (no more than five units), but then it will need to be registered with the Rosguards,” reports TASS. “When you buy a bow, you will need to provide a hunting ticket and permission to store and carry hunting weapons.”

At the same time constantly carrying and using such weapons for self-defense, as before, is prohibited. Everything produced in Russia and imported into its territory from abroad, throwing weapons and projectiles to it must undergo compulsory certification.

The authors of the bill on hunting with bows are the Tyumen State Duma deputy Ernest Valeyev and his colleague from Adygea, a member of the “Club of mountain hunters” Vladislav Reznik.
