OREANDA-NEWS  Therapist Nadezhda Chernyshova said that Russians are increasingly being diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. She warned about the boom of this disease in the country in an interview with Life.ru .

"This is a real boom in cirrhosis, they are getting sick more and more often, especially over the past year. The number of patients with cirrhosis of the liver has increased not only in Russia, but in our country these reasons are mainly related to lifestyle," said Chernyshova.

The doctor explained that the main causes of this disease are not only alcohol abuse, but also obesity, diabetes, as well as late detection of hepatitis or refusal of treatment. The article adds that cirrhosis can also be medicinal — it develops if a person abuses certain drugs. In addition, there are autoimmune forms.

Doctors consider a healthy lifestyle, especially abstinence from alcohol and overeating, to be the only method of preventing this dangerous disease.
