OREANDA-NEWS  "New generation villages" with a comfortable environment for residents, tourists and employees of enterprises ready to move there with their families are expected to appear first in the Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, citing data from the Atlas consulting bureau.

The Rostov and Voronezh regions, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan were also among the leaders. The Leningrad, Lipetsk, Tula and Irkutsk regions are in the top ten of the rating.

The first six leading regions produce up to 26 percent of Russia's agricultural products, besides, the infrastructure of the rural territories themselves is well developed there. A high proportion of the rural population there can be supported by active economic activity, as well as investments in infrastructure and related areas.

At the same time, experts noted that none of the promising regions has yet created a master plan or a comprehensive strategy for improving rural areas, and this hinders the development of local villages as modern spaces for living.

Earlier, residents of the Sverdlovsk villages of Aramashka, Zhukovo and Sokhareva announced the threat of an environmental disaster due to gold mining in the region. They are confident that the development of gold deposits in agricultural lands will destroy the fertile soil layer.
