OREANDA-NEWS  Starting from July 1, 2026, remote real estate transactions in Russia will be possible using biometric data. Alexander Yakubovsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services, told RIA Novosti about the changes.

According to the MP, biometrics will allow to confirm a person's identity without his presence at a notary or at the MFC. This will make it possible to conclude real estate transactions remotely, including mortgage, purchase, sale and lease. It will also reduce the risks of fraud.

Yakubovsky stressed that the use of biometrics will be voluntary. He believes that the innovation will increase the transparency of transactions and simplify the lives of both citizens and businesses.

Earlier it was reported that ads for rental housing with the phrases "only for Slavs" and "do not call Gypsies" were banned in Russia.
