OREANDA-NEWS  The sale of used clothing in 2025 could account for 10 percent of global fashion sales. This is reported by The Guardian with reference to a report by the analytical company GlobalData.

It is also noted that in 2023, global sales of worn clothing increased by 18 percent to $ 197 billion. At the same time, this amount is expected to increase to $350 billion by 2028. Researchers associate this trend with the cost-of-living crisis and buyers' concerns about the environmental situation on the planet.

"People tend to purchase used goods in order to get a big benefit," explained James Reinhart, co—founder and executive director of commission online store ThredUp. He noted that currently, interest in second-hand items is observed not only among generation Z and millennials, but also among representatives of other age groups.

In August 2023, stylist and TV presenter Vladislav Lisovets advised Russians to dress in second-hand shops.
