OREANDA-NEWS  Sberbank has no plans to open additional branches abroad, except for those already planned in China and India. This was stated by the First deputy chairman of the Board of the bank Alexander Vedyakhin in an interview with RBC on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF).

"As for our international presence, we, as Beac, do not plan to open additional subsidiary banks, offices outside the Russian Federation, except for the designated India and China," he said.

"It will be difficult for us to open a BEAC office directly, relatively speaking, in the Arab Emirates. But, again, we are happy to communicate with colleagues, share our knowledge, competencies, take something from them, suggest something to them in terms of client work, and this is really interesting," Vedyakhin added, commenting on work with foreign colleagues.

Last December, Vedyakhin stated that Sberbank expects to open a branch in China by the end of 2023. Also in early October of this year, the Beac plans to open its second office in India, which was announced by the deputy chairman of the Board of the bank Anatoly Popov on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. The first branch of Sberank has been operating in New Delhi since 2010, and it was capitalized in 2021.
