OREANDA-NEWS  Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, during a speech on a thematic conference call, commented on the mutiny of the Wagner PMCs. Speaking about the "attempt on June 23-25 to destabilize the situation in Russia," he said that the plans of the rebels failed because the personnel of the armed forces showed loyalty to the oath and military duty. The minister, whose resignation was one of the demands of the PMCs march, mentioned these events for the first time.

"The provocation did not affect the actions of the groups of troops. The servicemen courageously and selflessly continued to solve the tasks assigned to them. I thank the personnel for their conscientious service," the minister said.

On June 23-24, Sergei Shoigu did not comment on what was happening. For the first time since the mutiny, Mr. Shoigu appeared in public on June 26. Then the press service of the Ministry of Defense reported that he checked the forward control point of the Western group of troops in the zone of the military operation. On the same day, Sergei Shoigu appeared at a meeting held by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
