OREANDA-NEWS  Russia is withdrawing troops from the right bank of the Dnieper. During the report of General Surovikin to Defense Minister Shoigu at the command post of the Joint Grouping of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.  Shoigu approved a plan for the withdrawal of Russian troops to new defensive lines along the Dnieper River. The transfer of our forces from the right bank of the river will be carried out in the near future.

Surovikin motivated the need to regroup Russian troops on the left bank by the incessant shelling of the city and its outskirts by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as by the fact that air defense systems, even with their perfect operation, still do not have the ability to shoot down all 100 percent of the shells sent to the city.

After hearing Surovikin's report, Shoigu agreed with the arguments of the commander of the SVO troops and noted the importance of saving the lives of servicemen and civilians.

"For us, the life and health of Russian servicemen is always a priority. We must also take into account the threat to the civilian population. Make sure that everyone from among the civilian population could leave," Shoigu instructed.

Earlier, the commander of the DPR Khodakovsky warned that General Surovikin would have to make a difficult statement on Kherson.
