OREANDA-NEWS  At the end of June, Turkish importers sharply increased purchases of key types of Russian agricultural crops. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the data of the statistical service of the Mediterranean country.

During the reporting period, domestic exporters shipped approximately $8 million worth of barley to Turkey. On a monthly basis, the cost of supplies jumped 2.3 times, and on an annual basis — 5.4 times. Overall, shipments reached $73.8 million in the first half of the year (a 12.3-fold increase compared to the same period in 2025).

As for wheat, its exports increased to 115.6 million dollars. Compared to the May figure, the June result decreased by 11 percent, but increased by 2.2 times year-on-year. In January-June, shipments of key agricultural crops increased 1.9 times year-on-year, to 749.5 million.

In early summer, Russian corn was also in demand in Turkey. The value of its exports from Russia to the Mediterranean country has reached a maximum of 51.3 million dollars since May 2024. This dynamic has allowed Russia to gain a foothold on the second line in the list of the largest exporters of these products to Turkey.
