Thailand has extradited a Russian man who is on the international wanted list for extortion

OREANDA-NEWS Thailand has deported Alexander Verba, a Russian resident of Primorsky Krai, who is on the international wanted list for extortion, to Moscow. About this was reported by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.
According to her, representatives of the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Thailand handed over the defendant to the Russian police. He was on the international wanted list on charges of extortion committed by an organized group in order to obtain property on an especially large scale. The official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry noted that information about the discovery and detention of Willow was received from Thai partners through cooperation through Interpol channels. It will be delivered to Russia.
According to law enforcement officials, from 2008 to 2013, the man was a member of a criminal group operating in Arsenyev.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office (GP) of Russia, the defendant is the brother of the leader of the organized group Vladislav Verba. In March 2013, members of the group attacked a businessman. They beat him up and demanded to hand over six million rubles at gunpoint. Thus, he gave the attackers a car and agricultural machinery and two million rubles.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Extortion"). Vladislav Verba was detained. The court found him guilty and sentenced him to 15 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. His brother managed to escape abroad. He was put on the international wanted list.
