The air temperature dropped to minus 61 degrees Celsius in the Russian village

OREANDA-NEWS The air temperature in the village of Zhilinda Yakutia dropped to minus 61 degrees on Tuesday, according to the website of the Yakut Hydrometeorology Department.
According to meteorologists, Epiphany frosts came to the territory of the republic. In nine districts, the atmospheric air temperature was minus 45 and below. In the north-west, north-east of Yakutia, the night temperature reaches minus 50 degrees.
"In the village of Zhilinda, Oleneksky district of Yakutia, minus 61 degrees in the afternoon, the pressure is 757 mm of mercury, without wind," follows from the weather map.
In the capital of the republic, in Yakutsk, it is minus 42 degrees below zero. According to the city administration, an active day has been announced for students from grades 1-8, classes are held in a remote format.
A day earlier it was reported that -59 degrees were registered in Oymyakon, frosts below -45 were established in nine points of the districts.
