OREANDA-NEWS  Snow cover in Russia is growing. Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center, told RIA Novosti which regions of the country snow has already fallen.

According to the forecaster's calculations, 80 percent of Russia's territory is currently covered with snow. Stable snow cover has already formed in the Far East, the Urals and Siberia. In the European part of the country, snow fell in the Northwestern Federal District - snowfall caught residents of the eastern regions of the Arkhangelsk Region, as well as the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Komi Republic. In the Murmansk region, the snow cover, although insignificant, has been lying for five days, Vilfand stressed.

The warm season has come to an end in the capital. The cold weather in Moscow began on Monday, November 10. The temperature is gradually tending to zero, and wet snow is expected in the coming days. However, according to Wilfand's forecasts, the snow cover will last only a few hours in the parks. The meteorologist does not expect heavy snowfall and urges not to rub the skis ahead of time.
