The cost of the radioactive waste disposal project in France has been revealed

OREANDA-NEWS The ambitious endeavor to bury the most hazardous radioactive waste in France could cost the nation 45 billion euros, according to reports in Figaro.
The project is scheduled to be executed in the town of Buse, situated in the Meuse department in the eastern part of the country, between 2027 and 2028.
In 2014, it was estimated that the project would require an investment of 33 billion euros, but two years later, the French government reduced the budget to 25 billion euros. Considering inflation, it is estimated that the cost of creating a burial site could range from 31.6 to 45 billion euros in 2024.
Previously, experts from Ohio State University in the United States proposed a novel method for generating energy from nuclear waste to power electronic devices.
