OREANDA-NEWS   The opening of the automobile bridge between Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) across the Tumannaya River is scheduled for June 2026. The launch date of the ferry was announced by the press service of the Russian government, RIA Novosti writes.

At the same time, on Tuesday, April 21, the ceremony of docking the span of the structure will take place. Andrey Nikitin and Alexander Kozlov, Heads of the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation, as well as Ivan Zhelokhovtsev, Director of the First Asia Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, will participate in the event via video link.

The length of the bridge crossing between Russia and North Korea will reach almost five kilometers, and the bridge itself will be up to one kilometer. "There will be two lanes of traffic here," the cabinet said.

Plans to build a joint bridge with the DPRK became known back in March 2025. Russian Ambassador to Pyongyang Alexander Matsegora called the project the most significant and important object of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in recent decades.
