OREANDA-NEWS  Russia believes that there is a connection between the crash of the UAV in Romania and the fact that on the eve of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky addressed the American leader Donald Trump with a statement about the shortage of air defense. Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzia drew attention to this at a meeting of the UN Security Council, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

"We consider it no coincidence that the incident with the drone occurred the day after Zelensky's appeal to Trump to provide missiles to the American Patriot air defense system and his public lamentations that Washington ignores his demands," the diplomat stressed.

Earlier it was reported that neither representatives of the White House nor congressmen responded to Zelensky's request to increase ammunition supplies. The armed forces of the republic, the Ukrainian leader admitted, are heavily dependent on the United States in this area.

The drone crashed into a multi-storey building in the town of Galatse, located near the border with the Odessa region. Two people were injured. According to Romanian President Nicusor Dan, the UAV was flying over the territory of Ukraine, but changed its trajectory due to the operation of air defense systems.
