OREANDA-NEWS It is still difficult for the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) countries to agree on a new package of anti-Russian sanctions, said the head of the European Diplomacy, Josep Borrel, upon arrival in Luxembourg for a meeting of the heads of European departments. His words are quoted by TASS.

"Today we are not in a situation to agree on new sanctions against Russia, we will continue the discussion," he said in response to a question about the contents of the 11th package of sanctions against Russia.

Earlier, the European Union planned to discuss the introduction of a ban on the transit of a number of goods through Russia as part of the 11th package of sanctions. It is clarified that possible transit restrictions will apply to numerous high-tech goods.

On April 14, European Commissioner for Financial Stability Mairead McGuinness said that the European Union is preparing to introduce the 11th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
