OREANDA-NEWS  The European Commission (EC) will redirect 135 million euros to Moldova and Ukraine, which were intended for Russia and Belarus. This is reported by the press service of the organization.

"I am glad that the funds that we initially planned to allocate for this cooperation will now benefit the EU programs with Ukraine and Moldova," said Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira.

According to her, these finances will help strengthen cooperation between the European Union and interested parties with Ukrainian and Moldovan partners. We stressed that the program is aimed at supporting projects in the fields of transport, healthcare, education and research.

Earlier, EC representative Peter Stano said that the total amount of military aid that Western countries have supplied to Ukraine is about 20 billion euros.
