OREANDA-NEWS  The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has unanimously approved a resolution recognizing the Russian regime as "terrorist," Oleksiy Goncharenko, a member of the Ukrainian delegation and vice-president of the PACE Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population from Ukraine, said on Twitter.

According to him, 99 PACE deputies voted in support of the resolution, one abstained.

An amendment was made to the draft resolution, which proposes to "declare the Russian Federation a terrorist regime." During the voting, 79 deputies supported her, two were against and one abstained.

The resolution in question is called "Further escalation of the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine." It was initiated by the representative of the European People's Party from Lithuania Emanuelis Zingeris.

With this resolution, PACE demands that the member states of the Council of Europe not recognize referendums in the Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, support the financing of the reconstruction of Ukraine and provide the country with "the necessary air defense means", as well as create a special international tribunal for war crimes.
