OREANDA-NEWS A complete ban on the sale of vapes in Russia will not change the situation, people will find workarounds, it is much more important to work with young people to form a negative attitude towards such devices, Natalia Koshikhina, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Social Policy, told RIA Novosti.

A bill on a complete ban on the sale of vapes in Russia will be submitted to the State Duma in the near future, the author of the initiative, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor Yaroslav Nilov (LDPR), told RIA Novosti earlier. Earlier, the government's response to the bill was received, which notes that the ban on the sale of vapes in Russia may lead to their illegal turnover.

"We understand ourselves, the public and the parent community are contacting us, that vaping is a scourge of society today. I treat my colleague with great respect, but I will not support this initiative. Because it is definitely easier to ban it, but we are acquiring certain problems in the future that will also need to be solved. It is much more difficult and for a long time — it is very careful to work with young people so that they do not even want to try these vapes," the senator said.

According to Koshikhina, it is necessary to make vapes "unfashionable" among young people — young people are addicted to fashion. This is a very important work for the educational sector, parents, and the public, the parliamentarian stressed.
