OREANDA-NEWS  The fifth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States on the Iranian nuclear program has started in Rome. This is reported by the Iranian ISNA news agency.

"The fifth round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States has begun in Rome with the mediation of Oman," the statement said.

According to the agency, the Iranian delegation is led by the country's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, and the American delegation is led by US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff. The negotiations are taking place in the building of the Omani diplomatic mission in Rome.

Earlier, White House press Secretary Caroline Levitt said that negotiations with Iran on the republic's nuclear program are going in the right direction. At the same time, according to her, there are two options for completing the deal with Iran: either a positive diplomatic solution will be reached, or it will lead to a negative situation for the Islamic Republic.
