OREANDA-NEWS  Moscow is concerned about the military confrontation between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and calls on the parties to end the armed conflict and resolve disputes through political and diplomatic means, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"Moscow is concerned about the ongoing military confrontation between Afghanistan and Pakistan, which primarily affects civilians.… The Russian side calls on Islamabad and Kabul to end the armed conflict and resolve disputed issues through political and diplomatic methods," the ministry said in a statement posted on its website.

The Russian foreign Ministry clarified that another tragic episode was the airstrikes by the Pakistani Air Force on the eastern Afghan provinces of Paktia, Paktika and Kunar on the night of June 29, which, according to the UN, killed 28 people, including minors, and injured about 50 others.
