OREANDA-NEWS  Kai Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, cannot be expected to tell anything but lies. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said this at a briefing, commenting on the EU's reaction to the victory of Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract party in the parliamentary elections in Armenia.

"It was impossible to expect anything else from Kai Kallas, except another lie. Understand, this is such a person, such a biography," she said.

Zakharova stressed that the European Union was trying to control the course of the elections "manually." In particular, according to her, this was evidenced by the rapid response groups to hybrid threats, the "massive landing" to hold "political shows" in Yerevan in early May, and the promises of European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to allocate 50 million euros to Armenia in order to reduce dependence on Russia.

Commenting on the results of the elections in Armenia, Kallas stated that the country has made a choice in favor of the European future. According to Kallas, the EU is ready to help Yerevan with the implementation of reforms. At the same time, Armenia does not yet have the status of a candidate for unification.
