OREANDA-NEWS  Former Chief Engineer Yuriy Chernichuk has been appointed the new director of the Zaporizhia NPP (ZAES). This was announced by Advisor to the CEO of Rosenergoatom Renat Karchaa. Previously, the general director of the station was Igor Murashov. In October, he said that he had cooperated with the Security Service of Ukraine and was expelled to Ukraine.

"Yuri Alekseevich Chernichuk became the new director of the NPP and the first deputy general director of the JSC operating organization of the Zaporozhye power plant, who held the position of chief engineer in the coordinate system of the former employer of the NAEK concern," Mr. Karchaa said in an interview with Rossiya 24.

On October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the transfer of the Zaporozhye NPP to Russian jurisdiction. The station is operated by the "daughter" of Rosatom. The day before, Rosenergoatom said that they blocked the passes of employees who decided not to sign a contract with the operating organization of the NPP. The company claims that there are only a few such people.
