OREANDA-NEWS   The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a decree on the creation of a special economic zone of the tourist and recreational type "Gornaya Shoriya" in the Kemerovo region, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reported.

"The government continues to work on the formation of territories with special business conditions, where investors can implement projects important for the development of the regions on preferential terms.

A decree has been signed on the creation of a special economic zone (SEZ) of the tourist and recreational type "Gornaya Shoriya" in the Kemerovo Region, the message says.

The new special economic zone will be located in the south of Kuzbass – on the territory of the Tashtagolsky municipal district, in the interfluve of the sources of the Ob and Yenisei Rivers, at the junction of the spurs of the Altai and Sayan mountains. These places are distinguished by their unique relief, flora and fauna and have a high potential for the development of tourism, the Cabinet noted.

Within the framework of the special economic zone, investment projects will be implemented here to create sports, tourism, hotel, business and ski complexes. Investments in these projects will amount to more than 40 billion rubles. The number of new jobs will exceed 4,000.

Increasing the tourist attractiveness of Kuzbass is one of the key areas of the Kemerovo Region's socio–economic development program until 2030. The order on its approval was signed at the end of 2024.

Special economic zones are being created for the development of the manufacturing industry, high-tech sectors of the economy, tourism and port infrastructure. The location in the SEZ gives the business a number of advantages. Thus, residents can enjoy tax benefits and customs preferences, as well as count on a reduction in rental payments.
