OREANDA-NEWS The government has extended the simplified import of electronic devices to Russia until the end of 2023. The corresponding decree was signed at the end of December by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

"The decision will prevent a shortage of such goods in the domestic market against the background of external sanctions pressure," the government's press service notes.

The simplified procedure concerns the procedure for receiving notifications to devices that support cryptographic capabilities or encryption. These, in particular, include smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers, microchips, walkie-talkies.

Usually, in order to receive a notification, the manufacturer must contact an authorized organization - the Center for Licensing, Certification and Protection of State Secrets of the FSB of Russia. The simplified procedure allows for notification by industry associations.

Also, according to the simplified procedure, the requirements for providing the customs authorities with notification information regarding equipment imported into the country are excluded, if such devices are components for the industrial production of equipment on the territory of Russia. The main condition is that equipment manufacturers should be included in the list of system–forming enterprises.
