OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian government hopes to resume flights with Laos and Indonesia in 2024, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"We continue to develop outbound destinations as well. Direct flights to Vietnam and Myanmar were launched. Aeroflot has opened direct flights to Havana. In 2024, we hope to resume flights with Laos and Indonesia," Chernyshenko said.
He also noted that negotiations are already underway to introduce a visa-free regime with Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Malaysia and Myanmar, and the launch of mutual visa-free group tourist trips is being discussed with India.

"By the way, this year citizens of Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore and the Philippines were able to apply for electronic visas to Russia for up to 16 days. In addition, professional training programs for tourism industry specialists in Southeast Asian countries are being implemented. More than 160 Russian–speaking guides and interpreters have already been trained as part of the Russia-ASEAN Dialogue Partnership project," the Deputy Prime Minister added.

Chernyshenko stressed that in order to develop tourism, it is planned to ensure Russia's participation in major international tourism exhibitions and coverage of our tourist resources in foreign media, press tours, study tours will be organized, targeted online advertising will be launched.
