OREANDA-NEWS The government will additionally allocate another 5 billion rubles to the Federal Air Transport Agency to support the industry, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

At a government meeting, he recalled that 5 billion rubles had already been allocated this year in order to maintain a highly qualified team and uninterrupted flight service.

"Today we will additionally allocate another five billion rubles for investment programs of the state corporation for the organization of air traffic to provide a basis for flight safety for years to come, increase the stability of transport infrastructure, make transportation more accessible to people and businesses in various parts of our country," Mishustin said.

He noted that recently the number of flights made in the Russian sky has been steadily growing. Mishustin also added that, nevertheless, funds are needed for the purchase of radar equipment necessary for the development of regional airports, strengthening the protection of information systems, as well as for advancing contracts with manufacturers and forming a foundation for the future.
