OREANDA-NEWS The head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kurenkov, continues to work in regions with the most difficult flood situation, currently the minister has arrived again in the flooded Kurgan region, the ministry's press service reported on Monday.

On April 9, the minister was already on a working trip to the region, where he held a meeting of the government commission.

"In the Kurgan region, Alexander Kurenkov will check the execution of previously announced orders to eliminate the consequences of an emergency, personally monitor the work to assist the population, as well as evaluate the construction of protective structures and shore protection works," the message says.

According to the latest data, an intensive increase in the water level in the Tobol River continues in the Kurgan region. 305 residential buildings and 598 private plots remain flooded. Almost 13 thousand people were evacuated.

Since April 8, an emergency regime has been introduced in the Kurgan region due to flooding.
