OREANDA-NEWS The Russian manufacturing industry currently needs to attract approximately 0.5 million workers with higher education and another 1.4 million with professional education. This was reported by TASS with reference to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Anton Alikhanov.
"About 1.9 million people have an additional need for people in the manufacturing industry," he estimated the shortage of personnel in an interview with Rossiya-24 TV channel.
The minister also announced an increase in government spending on robotics. This year, their volume will amount to 7 billion rubles, spending will reach 37 billion in three years, and over a six-year horizon, more than 136 billion rubles have been allocated for the use of robots in industry.
Earlier it was reported that changes in labor legislation, which, in particular, will increase the limit of permitted overtime in Russia from 120 to 240 hours per year, will help offset the need to create 48.8 thousand additional jobs. At the same time, the trade unions urge to pay for processing starting from 121 hours not in double, but in a more significant amount.
