The issuance of compulsory health insurance policies to residents of new regions of Russia is planned to begin in mid-February

The issuance of compulsory health insurance policies to residents of the new territories of the Russian Federation will begin in February. This was reported to journalists by the chairman of the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund Ilya Balanin.
"We plan to start issuing policies to residents of new subjects sometime in mid-February, and the CHI system will work in full from 2024," he said.
Balanin added that in the new subjects of the Russian Federation, the CHI system is only being created, territorial funds are beginning to open. However, residents can get medical care in any other region of the Russian Federation.
"There, the financing of medical care, including within the subjects, is going this year according to a slightly different scheme - it is directly financed from the federal budget," he said.
