OREANDA-NEWS The mood of the Russian side ahead of the meeting of the leaders of Russia and Azerbaijan, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, is full of optimism, as the presidents will be able to discuss all the accumulated problems in relations, said Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian leader.

"Now we are talking about Putin's state visit to Tajikistan. We have a very extensive agenda. Separately, of course, there is the issue of Russian-Azerbaijani relations," he said.

Peskov noted that the phone conversation between Putin and Aliyev earlier was "good, positive, constructive," and an agreement on the upcoming meeting was reached, including during the conversation.
