OREANDA-NEWS  Belarus has become the leader in terms of debts to Russia. This is reported by RBC with reference to data from the World Bank.

It is clarified that the debt of foreign states and their residents to Russia totals $ 28.9 billion as of the end of 2022. As noted, this amount has become $ 2.3 billion more.

According to the RBC infographic, Belarus owes Russia $8.24 billion, Bangladesh — 5.86, and India — 3.75. Egypt and Vietnam also got into the top 5 debtors - their debt to Russia amounts to 1.82 and 1.39 billion dollars, respectively.

Earlier it was reported that Russia's external debt in 2022 increased only to India. At that time, Russia had only three sovereign creditors — India, France and South Korea. The debt to India turned out to be the largest, it increased by a quarter over the year to $ 777 million.
