OREANDA-NEWS On the night of July 22-23, Russian air defense systems repelled a massive attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), during which hundreds of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were destroyed. This is stated in a statement issued by the Russian Ministry of Defense, its text is published in Telegram.

According to the defense Ministry, 18 Russian regions were hit, including Tatarstan, Crimea, the Moscow region, as well as the Ulyanovsk, Orel, Samara, Tver and Tula regions. In total, 223 UAVs were destroyed over the subjects of the federation.

All the downed aircraft were of the airplane type.

Earlier, Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev announced that there were serious consequences in the region after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attack. In addition, the head of Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, announced the death of one resident of the region after the Ukrainian strike.
