OREANDA-NEWS  Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant (KnAAZ) named after Gagarin of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) handed over to the Ministry of Defense the next batch of new Su-35S aircraft.

"We are delivering aviation equipment within the terms stipulated by the contracts, meeting the needs of the Russian Defense Ministry in modern aviation complexes," commented Yuri Slyusar, General Director of the UAC.

Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov noted that significant investments have been made in the modernization of the defense industry in recent years. "Today, these investments are working to solve the tasks of a special military operation and strengthen the defense capability of our country," Mr. Manturov said. The provision of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with equipment is controlled by the coordinating council under the government.

The Su-35 is a deep modernization of the Su—27 fighter in order to significantly increase the effectiveness of its combat use for air, land and sea targets.

Generation 4++ fighters built at KnAAZ are completing the implementation of the third contract for delivery to the Russian Aerospace Forces. The first batch was delivered in the fall of 2021.
