OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Defense Ministry has signed the first contract within the framework of the order on volunteers with the Akhmat detachment, the military department reported.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu signed an order that defined the procedure for organizing the official activities of volunteer organizations. According to the document, all volunteer detachments will sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense by July 1. This will increase the effectiveness of the use of volunteer formations as part of the Combined Group of Troops.

"As part of the implementation of the order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation on determining the procedure for organizing the official activities of volunteer organizations, a contract was signed between the Ministry of Defense of Russia and the Akhmat volunteer detachment, prepared by the Russian University of Special Purpose," the message says.

According to the ministry, the contract defining the legal regulation and activities of the Akhmat volunteer units in the special operation zone, as well as the extension of social protection and support measures established by the state to volunteers and their family members, was signed by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexey Kim and Director of the Russian University of Special Forces Adam Dashaev.

As Kim noted, today a "fairly large" number of units, volunteer detachments and other military formations are taking part in the zone of their own together with the units of the Armed Forces.

"In order to increase the effectiveness of the use of volunteer formations under the leadership of Supreme Commander Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and the Minister of Defense, an order was issued that defines the order of service of all volunteer detachments," the general added.

He expressed hope that in the future the rest of the volunteer units will sign such contracts.
"The decision made today by the leadership of the country, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, I believe, allows us to level the entire social package for our fighters who voluntarily came to the front, and those who serve in the Ministry of Defense, and make sure that we do not have to look for legal issues through which we can somehow help to our fighters who were wounded or killed, and to the families of these fighters," said Apty Alaudinov, the commander of the Akhmat.
