OREANDA-NEWS  Rescuers evacuated 1,534 people in the Kherson region after the Ukrainian sabotage at the Kakhovskaya HPP, 154 of them were children, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia reported.

"Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia rescued 1,534 people, 154 of them children. A total of 5,133 people were evacuated, including 178 children and 66 people with limited mobility. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia provides comprehensive assistance to the population and continues to increase the forces and means to eliminate the consequences of an emergency in the Kherson region," the ministry said.

It is emphasized that a group of more than 190 people, 66 units of high-passable equipment, including 25 watercraft, is working on site. Also, the airmobile groups of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Rostov region and the city of Sevastopol, the Don and Tula rescue centers have been put on alert.

"The operational group of the Central Office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, headed by Deputy Minister Anatoly Suprunovsky, visited the affected areas of the Kherson region, and a visiting meeting was held, during which the deputy minister was given a number of instructions for further effective work," the message adds.
