OREANDA-NEWS  Russia is counting on a radical rethink of the UN's work in the Ukrainian direction, which is now a failure, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alimov said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"We expect a radical rethinking of the UN's work in the Ukrainian direction, which today should be considered obviously a failure," Alimov said.

He stressed that Moscow imposes a number of strict requirements on candidates for the post of UN Secretary General, which are discussed by both the applicants themselves and their partners.
