OREANDA-NEWS  The Ministry of Sports refused to help Spartak in obtaining Russian citizenship for the Dutch legionnaire of the red and white Quincy Promes.

"During the study of this issue, together with interested organizations, the Ministry of Sports of Russia decided to refuse FC Spartak Moscow to send a petition for granting citizenship of the Russian Federation to Quincy Anton Promes," journalist Ivan Karpov quotes a representative of the Ministry of Sports.

It is clarified that Spartak has sent a letter to the Ministry of Sports of Russia on assistance in obtaining citizenship of the Russian Federation to Quincy Anton Promes, a citizen of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, in accordance with the procedure provided for by the federal law "On Citizenship of the Russian Federation".

The capital club initiated the procedure in early December, but since then the club has not been able to confirm or deny its actions. The refusal came to Spartak at the end of the year and was caused by the fact that Promes is being held by the accused in a criminal case in the Netherlands. Therefore, the Ministry was unable to file the requested petition.

Earlier it was reported that Promes will not attend the trial in the Netherlands on Friday, otherwise he may be arrested.
