The Northern Fleet reported on the development of military infrastructure in the Arctic

OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Northern Fleet announced the improvement of the military infrastructure on the Arctic islands and the continuous combat duty of submarines in the Arctic and the World Ocean.
"A set of measures for the development of the Arctic is one of the priority tasks facing the sailors of the Northern Fleet, which has been successfully implemented in recent years," the press service of the Northern Fleet said on Thursday.
"A modern extensive military infrastructure has been created and continues to be improved on the Arctic islands, including high-tech and efficient lighting systems that function in all environments - in the air, on the water and under water. Trips of ships and vessels of the fleet to the islands of the Novosibirsk Archipelago, Novaya Zemlya and the Franz Josef Land archipelago have become a daily practice," the fleet informs.
"The fleet's submarines continuously solve the tasks of combat patrol and combat duty in the World Ocean and under the Arctic ice," the report says.
June 1 marked 290 years since the formation of the Northern Fleet.
The Northern Fleet is called one of the most powerful fleets of the Russian Navy. It consists of underwater and surface forces, coastal troops, the army of the Air Force and air defense.
"The structure and composition of the Northern Fleet, its main associations and formations allow us to qualitatively solve the entire range of tasks to ensure the military security of the state and strategic stability in the Arctic direction, in the World Ocean," the press service said.
It notes that the Northern Fleet includes ships of the ocean zone, including frigates with hypersonic missiles "Zircon" and cruise missiles "Caliber". The press service stated that the main component of the Northern Fleet is the naval strategic nuclear forces.
"In the Northern Fleet, they are represented by the strategic missile carriers of the 667 BDRM project and the strategic missile submarines of the fourth generation of the Borey and Borey-A projects that replace them. The submariners of the Northern Fleet have accumulated a wealth of experience in the development and use of these ships in the Arctic and in other areas of the World Ocean, they train crews, including for other fleets of the Russian Navy," the message says.
"Since February 2022, the Northern Fleet has been taking part in a special military operation with a significant composition of troops and forces," the press service of the fleet reported.
