OREANDA-NEWS The number of registered individual entrepreneurs in Russia increased by 7% in 2025 and reached almost 5 million by the beginning of 2026, according to data from the Federal Tax Service (FTS), as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the data, the number of Russians who applied for state registration as individual entrepreneurs increased by 7% or 320,000 in the past year, reaching 4.876 million by the beginning of 2026. In 2024, the number of individual entrepreneurs slightly exceeded 4.5 million.

The growth in the number of individual entrepreneurs indicates that businesses are striving for legalization and transparency, Evgeniya Memruk, the founder of the Business and Taxes Training Center and the head of the Union of Accountants and Tax Consultants, told RIA Novosti.
