OREANDA-NEWS The oldest coal company operating in Russia was accused of exceeding the emission standards and black snowfall. The pollution level of the Kiselyov processing plant has twice exceeded the norm, the press service of the Novokuznetsk Environmental Prosecutor's Office reports.

The agency studied air samples near the residential buildings closest to the factory. According to the results of the inspection, the concentration of coal dust in the air turned out to be twice as high as permissible. The prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit against Mine No. 12 for non-compliance with environmental and sanitary regulations. The court ordered the company to reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The decision has not yet entered into force.

In 2009, the factory became part of Stroyservice JSC. Since 2013, instead of underground coal mining, the company began to develop surface mining.

The check was organized on the news about the fall of black snow in Kiselevsk. Earlier, one of Chita's neighborhoods was covered with coal dust. The snow turned black on playgrounds and in residential courtyards. The source of emissions is called the former boiler plant of the Machine Plant, the owner of which refuses to transfer the heating equipment for modernization to the authorities. Residents of Krasnoyarsk and Achinsk complained about the black snow and the smell of burning. They blame the railway boiler house and urban factories for air pollution. Local residents informed the president about the ecological situation.
