OREANDA-NEWS The Pacific Fleet was woken up by sirens on Friday morning. The personnel in full strength has been brought to the highest degree of readiness within the framework of the practice of conducting sudden inspections. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Today, from 9 o'clock (Vladivostok time), the Pacific Fleet has been alerted and has begun to bring the full Pacific Fleet to the highest degree of combat readiness. During the event, the sailors will have to repel massive missile and air strikes, conduct exercises to search for and destroy submarines, perform torpedo, artillery firing and missile launches during the defeat of ship strike groups and ground targets of a simulated enemy," Russian Defense Minister Army General Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting with the leadership of the Defense Ministry.

The Minister stressed that during the inspection of the TOPF, modern weapons of the probable enemy will be taken into account. Units of the Aerospace Forces (VKS of Russia), air defense forces, strategic rocket launchers and long-range aviation will also take part in the inspection.

According to Shoigu, as part of the inspection, the Pacific Fleet will have to prepare for combat operations in a short time, perform operational deployment and work out a set of combat training tasks, both in the near and far sea zone.
