OREANDA-NEWS In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a pilot was convicted of a helicopter crash. 

He was found guilty under Article 263 ("Violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of air transport, which negligently caused major damage and death of a person") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

As the court found, in May 2022, the commander of the MI-8T helicopter violated the rules of operation, which led to a fall. As a result of the incident, one person received life-threatening injuries. The damage from the aircraft crash amounted to more than 30 million rubles.

The court sentenced him to 2.5 years in a penal colony, and also banned him from engaging in activities related to traffic safety and the operation of air transport for a period of three years.
