OREANDA-NEWS   Russian Ambassador to Canada Oleg Stepanov said that his call to the country's Foreign Ministry concerned exclusively the tragedy in Dnepropetrovsk, the statements of Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov were not discussed.

Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said earlier that Stepanov was called to, among other things, condemn the words of Lavrov, who called the goal of the collective West's anti-Russian policy "the final solution of the Russian question" and drew a parallel with the attempts of Nazi Germany's leader Adolf Hitler to "finally solve the Jewish question." The Canadian minister called this comparison "anti-Semitic." "I also saw this statement by Joly, in fact, after the fact — after the meeting," the ambassador told Russian journalists.

He said that he rejected attempts by the Canadian side to blame Russia for the destruction of a residential building in Dnepropetrovsk.
