OREANDA-NEWS  Russia and China are acting in the interests of creating an equal, open, inclusive and non-third-country security system in the region and the world as a whole, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said on Tuesday.

"We are witnessing truly dramatic changes in the geopolitical landscape. The so-called collective West clings to its elusive global dominance, putting the fate of entire states and peoples at stake. The United States openly declares a policy of double containment of Russia and China, declaring the Russian Federation an "immediate threat" and the PRC a "strategic competitor," Morgulov said, speaking at the Eighth International Conference "Russia and China: cooperation in a new era".

He noted that "in contrast to this, Moscow and Beijing consistently advocate with an alternative view for the formation of a more just multipolar world order based on international law, and not on some incomprehensible rules invented by someone."

"Russia and China are acting in the interests of creating an equal, open, inclusive security system in the region and the world as a whole that is not directed against third countries," the diplomat added.

Morgulov stressed that "our position is shared by the absolute majority of countries in the world."
