OREANDA-NEWS  The decision to evacuate the staff of the Russian Embassy in Israel can be made if necessary. This was stated on the Rossiya-24 TV channel by Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov.

"For now, we mean, of course, the possibility of evacuation, but we believe that those citizens who want to protect themselves have this opportunity. We are watching closely. If necessary, we will make other decisions," the diplomat said.

The ambassador also said that he recommended his staff to use their annual leave to temporarily travel with their families to Russia until the situation in Israel normalizes.

On June 13, Israel launched Operation Rising Lion and attacked Iran's nuclear facilities, as well as announced the destruction of key nuclear scientists in the country. The Israeli authorities cited the development of nuclear weapons as the reason for the attack on Iran.
