OREANDA-NEWS   Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow will respond to sanctions from the United States and Canada. According to her, counter-sanctions will be built on the basis of the principles of "strict reciprocity and the inevitability of punishment."

"For our part, we are preparing retaliatory measures, creatively applying the accumulated experience for a more focused impact on Washington and Ottawa singing along to it," Ms. Zakharova said, her words are quoted by the press service of the Foreign Ministry.

Canada expanded sanctions against Russia on February 24, the anniversary of the start of the military operation in Ukraine. 129 individuals and 63 legal entities were included in the sanctions lists. On February 25, the US Treasury introduced new sanctions against 22 individuals and 83 legal entities, another 76 legal entities fell under the export restrictions of the US Department of Commerce.
