The Russian military was convicted of escaping from a unit in the DPR

OREANDA-NEWS The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk garrison military court sentenced a junior sergeant to six years in a general regime colony for escaping from a unit in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
On Sakhalin, the military was found guilty under Article 337 ("Unauthorized abandonment of a unit") The Criminal Code OF the Russian Federation. He was stripped of the military rank of "junior sergeant".

Earlier it became known that the garrison military courts of St. Petersburg handed down 108 convictions against military personnel who evaded their duties in military service in 2023.
