OREANDA-NEWS The Russian Navy will receive five new submarines in 2023. This was announced by the head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexey Rakhmanov in an interview with the Interfax news agency.

"Sevmash and Admiralty Shipyards will transfer two nuclear and three diesel-electric submarines to the fleet," he said.

Rakhmanov noted that this year USC handed over to the Russian Navy a new corvette "Mercury" and a repaired patrol ship "Undaunted". According to him, USC plans to transfer the Admiral Golovko frigate and the Sharp corvette to the fleet soon. The Kronstadt Marine Plant will hand over the repaired large amphibious ship "Alexander Shabalin". In May, the Russian Defense Ministry said that since the beginning of 2023, the Navy has received six ships and vessels, and by the end of the year, the fleet will include another 30 warships, boats and support vessels.
